Yeah, after it'd tried to kill a kitten. It was a dog we'd brought in from a shelter and wasn't supposed to be around the other animals yet, but they (my mother and then step father) thought it was okay, and anyway, it wasn't. The kitten's spine was broken, it was pitiful watching it drag itself along, and long story short, it was put down the next day. The dog was taken back to the shelter and I'm not sure what it's fate was. I blame my parents (and the dog's previous owners) more than the dog, but at the time, I was upset with the dog itself. This is the same dog I got a bite and ultimately a scar from breaking up a fight between it and another dog with my hands instead of using a hose or whatever you're supposed to do. Anyway, shit sucks, but you can only be so upset with the animal.
I also kicked a dog during a walk one time that was being aggressive, then it left, could've went either way though, really it's a stupid way to deal with an aggressive dog in retrospect. We had a friend that biked a lot and carried a .38 and would occasionally shoot aggressive dogs he encountered during his bike rides which seemed ridiculous to me then, we (myself and Mrs. Anti) admonished this, but now I think there are situations where I'd shoot a dog too, but they are few and would call for a dog being ridiculously aggressive.
The only animals apart from wild boar I've killed in the last few year were some snakes, some roadkill that weren't quite 'kill' yet, and the last was an osprey's dinner, the osprey flew off when we arrived on the trail, and in reality I probably should've just let nature take its course, but it seemed like a kindness at the time. Also hit a deer and and a couple opossums over the past few years, but the deer was asking for it.
On the outskirts of these hugely populated beach areas there are also very rural spots in Florida2Lower-Alabama.
