i was on it after it first came out. it was bad. i had everything from mania to suicidal thoughts when i was on it. fucked me up worse than any street drug i took, and it made me weird too. like i kept on odd little journal of my crazy thoughts and i read it a year later and i didn't even realise how fucked i was. i was delusional, paranoid and wasn't sleeping.
parents got me off of it. had to live with them for 2 weeks while the shit got out of my system. i had withdrawls. terrible. i will suffer depression again rather than take drugs that fuck with brain chemistry.

These are the kind of stories I saw, terrible stories, I'm sorry you had to go through that. Although this was the case with your experience, I'm kind of skeptical about the other stories.
You hear these pills described in a lot of ways, happy pills, sugar pills, spawn of satan..... But maybe a lot of people get the idea that they got worse simply because their illness hadn't peaked yet?

But could you describe your experience with your meds? If you want to.

i don't really have any horror stories besides gaining a bunch of weight. i'm on a triple script of cymbalta, abilify, and wellbutrin. i think theyre all maxed out too. usually when im not on my meds i feel like shit. i still feel like shit when i'm on them but not as much

effexor can be effexive for some people
It is not simply an SSRI - - there are different effects depending on dose. From wiki - - At low doses (<150 mg/day), it acts only on serotonergic transmission. At moderate doses (>150 mg/day), it acts on serotonergic and noradrenergic systems, whereas at high doses (>300 mg/day), it also affects dopaminergic neurotransmission

I rather liked it. Only stopped taking it because it made me sleepy and that psychiatrist was unhelpful. Withdrawals were intense though.
But yeah it was good stuff for me

The problem with SSRIs, is that people don't realize how dangerous they can be. Every drug comes with a risk, it's up to your doctor to determine if the benefits will outweigh the risks.

Yeah! Prozac was horrible for me. Right now I'm on welbutrin and Zoloft. Zoloft can give me awful heartburn sometimes.
I had cypralex for a little bit, it was awful.

Yeah most likely. Frequent brain zaps. Very disorienting!
