Quarks and gluons plasma, behaves as an almost perfect very close to perfect, Fermi liquid plasma. That is a low temperature state and not as you state, a high temperature state.

Although technically it is a plasma, in reality it is a fundamentally new form of matter. This phase of matter was the universes entire existence during the first few milliseconds of time after the big bang or "quark time". The strength of the Strong Nuclear Force at the time meant that unlike a normal plasma like we see today "a liquid gas" this quark-gluon soup was a near perfect fermi liquid. A fermi liquid is comparable to the structure of metals at a low temperature. Basically the first few milliseconds after the big bang the universe was so dense all of these quarks and gluons were so jammed close together they formed a "solid" plasma material. Very cool.

Remember there are four distinct states of matter, which are often easily confused. From the beginning of time at the moment of the big bang, these states existed. No new forms of matter.

Yes it is still a plasma, but its behavior was different than how we traditionally view plasma today in text books and what we see in the universe. The quark-gluon soup is different from everything we have seen and I think it is very exciting. We are trying to study it with CERN but I think just discovering/confirming new particles has taken priority although we have generated it.
Imagine a plasma that behaves like a metal. It is very cool.

Yes but mercury is a metal that is liquid at room temperature. A plasma has an electrical charge added to it. I liked playing with mercury too, as well as gallium since it isn't toxic. Only shitty think with gallium is that it melts at like 86 degrees I think?

Yea 86 - Never have played with it and have only used it as in devices made with it for microwave frequencies and solar cells and a little with the led's made with it. No hands on experience with it as the metal itself - not even in my chem classes.
