I am honestly thinking about becoming an anthropology major.

I found myself enjoying the study of human beings.

Plus one of my instructors said I have the mind for it.

Not as cool as philosophy, but I guess for people who do not appreciate true beauty and knowledge it is an acceptable choice.

I like philosophy too, but I do not see myself majoring in it.

Ive always been interested in the native Americans the most. I spend my free time reading anthropology books since I was a kid. It's the only thing that I can really enjoy studying . I love learning about prehistory and hunter gatherer stuff and the beginnings of human kind. Do you like learning about hunter gatherers too?? Or just culture in general.
I love humans we are a fascinating bunch

Just yesterday I was curious where Sami/Laplander people came from. They are traceable to a stone age people that were the first to get up north in Europe as the ice age waned.

I met a anthropologist once. Was a homosexual from Malaysia and had previously worked on making things better for people who work as cleaners in hotels.

Seemed very nice.

I am mostly interested in the evolution of humans (and animals to a lesser extent), so yeah, you can say I am interested in hunter and gather societies. I am also interested in the cultural side as well. Both physical and cultural anthropology seem to go together like a horse and carriage. Probably because we're biocultural beings.

Study of the early native American's of California and more specifically the natives Americans of Los Angeles-Malibu and our coastal islands has been one of my long time hobbies. Have even lectured about them - Started in grammar school class and I picked it up again when out and about hiking because of coming across so many artifacts. Got to the point that when I am out and about I can located former villages with great accuracy.

Here in SD County - I have not gotten back to that hobby.
