Did Obama really have anything to do with it other than being in office when it happened? I don't think this will change much. People who like to hate him will still hate him, and people who support him will still support him. He seems like a good guy. He seems very intelligent and measured in his responses to most everything. However, even his supporters have lost faith in him lately.
He came into office looking like the guy we wanted. He really did nothing to curb the dumping of massive quantities of cash into unsustainable foreign wars, he did not close sites where we are apparently torturing people held without due process, and he did fuck all domestically except push through a health care plan that was argued into the ground. The super-rich are done whining that they need taxpayer money to bail out their failed businesses and have just finished whining about how they shouldn't have to actually pay taxes on their taxpayer supported businesses. Our great populist hero wants to cast himself as the great compromiser in an age when he should be actually effecting change.
I think he has good intentions, but I don't think he's the man for the job. I would be much happier seeing him a position like Secretary of State.

There were no American casualties. I doubt bin Laden would have ever surrendered. He wanted eventual martyrdom, but he was a bit of a coward imo.
