I have always wondered this and have been asking myself about it. With how divided the country has become could there be a catastrophic split between governing ideals where the south and red states decide to go to war with the blue ones? I know most red states are southern states and I wonder if this will one day cause another breakout of civil war.

Think about the insanity of this election for example. Imagine if another democrat gets elected the republicans are going to shit. What is to say that the rich assholes controlling the country decide that civil war will make them the most money? Our first civil war was the same way, northern businesses could not compete with slave labor of the south and goods were therefore cheaper from the south. Plus the humanitarian ideologies that forbade the ownership of people, regardless of how untouchable?

I think there's a possibility. Not too likely to happen though.

Why does it have to be a war? Why not just an amicable divorce?
