You and I back when Link turned it over to you had a conversation. It was about money. Link took donations. I think his ethics sucked and I can say that because he took my money and ran off with it.
What I do not understand is why you have complained about the small amount of money you put out - without once asking the user base for donations to keep it alive. I hardly used it towards the final months but would have been happy to fund a chunk of the costs to keep it going. For me it's just chump change.
Nor do I want any Admin privileges. Its just not in my work realm to end up with any responsibility. All that said - I would have been happy to keep the operating funds going and paid in advance.
Grinds my gears however to turn over cold hard cash to someone who has acted less than responsible as the Sysops of that site. Why not put Fuchs or FuckAlms or On in charge. Doubt as students On or FuckAlms can afford the costs of keeping it going on their own. I have never asked Fuchs about his situation.
You could just give it back to Jan- I can forward the cash to keep it going and sure it might be cool to have others contribute. I know of one regular user that says they will contribute - email communication.

I can't tell you too much because if I'm not careful they will know who I am and set off my dox bomb. It is a namefag you know well as a notorious community figure. They were providing money in exchange for the ability to document and stalk certain people to blackmail them into a group of slanderers against enemy posters or boards etc. We called it the troll squad. The takedown came about as a result of the posters personal details becoming compromised. They wanted no evidence. I was part of this group and was trusted. Fuckalms leaked the truth to me like a broken faucet leaks water- slowly and over time. I know the reason for the shutdown because it was divulged to trusted members of the troll squad. We were told our dox and information was destroyed. I don't believe them but I'm taking as much of a chance as I dare. Good luck digging, it's a deep rabbit hole.
