I rarely call my cat by her name. I usually just meow at her. She meows back.

I think she has separation anxiety, from her last family leaving her at the shelter. Sometimes she'll wake-up from a deep sleep, and keep meowing until I respond to her.

Fostering another cat might actually be a good idea. I adopted a cat that had been taken away from his litter very early and had really only spent time with humans. Even at a year old he was still trying to claw his way up onto the bed. When we adopted another cat, it was as if he saw the other cat jumping up onto things and suddenly realized he had the same ability. After that he stopped trying to scale bookcases with his claws and just started jumping up to the shelves.

the foster kitty though, he's very very shy. it took 3 weeks for him to get out from behind the stove in his current place, so i don't know if he'd be really happy with another kitty?

> so i can get the bb a scratching post and he'll be complete

I just built one myself. A roll of sisal rope and some spare wood cuts from the hardware store generally only cost as much as you might pay for a latte. You can generally get spare cuts of carpeting to put on it. A little work with a hammer, nails, and a staple gun is all you need. Please don't pay way too much for a cat tree. It hurts my soul when people do that.

Seriously, if you have a local hardware store that deals in lumber, then you can usually just go in and ask if they have any spare cuts of wood. They will most likely throw those cuts out, so they will usually be happy to sell them to you for pennies. Same with carpeting places. I have a carpeting store nearby that will just give you roll portions because they have heaps of spare cuts that they have to pay to get hauled off.

@682,095 (chili dog !!81dzJNNYL)

Wide base. Cats don't weigh much. Spare pieces of layered plywood or 2x4s should do the trick. Look at the cat trees you see in stores or online to get an idea of how wide the base should be. If you're making something elaborate it needs to be pretty sturdy. If you're just making a scratching post it wouldn't need to be near as wide.

Nah, they're all ruffled feathers and only attack shoes and fingers. Plus I've never heard of a house broken goose. Not to mention they appear unaware of the reptilian threat.

It's quite possible that geese have allied themselves with the squamous ones. It's also possible that they may have some reptilian ancestry or could've been planted here aeons ago by the reptoids and evolved into their current form.
