Damn interesting - Anyone that has doxed me no's I once lived at the Edge of that Lagoon - I still own that Condo and lease it out - I am still trying to buy out a partner so I can own 100% and given he is slow on cash flow I suspect I will sooner rather than later.
The lagoon was recently at great risk re LA Developer trying to buy up a chunk of the Lagoon across the 5 Freeway - City Council of Carlsbad said 100% Yes n the people of Carlsbad said put it on the ballot and THEY WON - I could not vote re Carlsbad is 92008 n I am resident of 92007 Cardiff by the Sea. Lagoon is also the new site 4 turning Salty Ocean a Blue water in2 pure drinking water
I did a quick search of your professor and damn he also did a dig at Malaga Cove in Palos Verde - Back in my Married days my wife taught at a school in Palos Verde and I spent much time hanging out in tha cove.
Luiseño Indians which are mentioned I no next to nada about other than they got screwed cause all were re-located to inland areas so the quality coastal lands could be made in2 mansions n such.
