From various conversations with male and female friends it seems a majority of girls high school locker rooms have at least some curtained showers while in a majority of guys locker rooms u change and shower in one big area. Some friends schools required them to shower but ours didn't. Thar being said a number of us (guys) would shower if we were a sweaty mess...guys who were on sports teams nearly always did prob cause they were used to doing so after practice and games. Its something that's a good idea to get used to doing, u don't want to be that one guy who's afraid to change and shower. The first few times its a little awkward if you've never done it but by high school age its really not as big a deal as u think. I was reluctant at first because I'm not circumcised and I thought there would be questions or comments or worse but after chickening a few times I stripped and went in and turns out no one said anything. No reluctance after that!

Qualcomm Inc San Diego has a huge number of buildings 39 to 42 or so. Most have their own gyms and they all have showers and the showers are open group showers. Currently the Gyms are open for Men Women and the showers are separate. Never having been inside the gals showers I have no clue if they are wide open as well.

Meh, we had dividers, the water was either too hot or too cold, some people showered after gym, some didn't. It wasn't really a big deal either way. The class was a joke, but mandatory to graduate.
