I'm not going to go into too much detail but I somehow ended up in a conversation with a game dev who asked me to moderate their Steam forum page and I accepted as I got a free game from it. A few conversations later and they saw who I am in real life through Facebook I've been asked to moderate their other and upcoming Steam pages, I don't have any "duties" or have to commit to anything but they just want a mature person with forum admin abilities. Looking further ahead I can even moderate their websites forums if I desire providing I spend some actual time there.
It's great to have the power to actually ban, mute and block people. I love how posters change their tone towards you when they know you're a mod. And to make it even better, I actually get something from it - Free games from the forums I moderate.

All of us where I live and play will never forget the morning when one of our mates came out of the water to say high to a super cute girl who was putting on her wet suit to hit the surf. We all watched this because we all knew the girl was about to do that final thing Pre Nuns do before being full on Nuns.

They (politely to be honest) asked me to reign in the amount of posts I made raging at Fuckalms. They even suggested in jest I could make one thread a day but I didn't, out of respect that it's their board, their rules*. Today is the first time I've made a post to the pedo-enabler in God knows how long.
So, hardly a case of the mods "kicking the shit out of me". They asked me to tone it down, I did. Compare that with Fuckalms' moderation style which was to ban anybody who ever dared to laugh at him or his little group of pedos and racists.
*also, I'd be lying if I didn't say the other reason I quit was because I wanted to see how long it would be until you made a thread asking where I was; boards like this exist only so long as there's someone raging about someone else. And sure enough, 3 days after I quit was the first "baaaaaw, where's 'dave'?? Entertain me!!" thread.
