Topic: Are white people more accepting of transgender individuals than blacks or hispanics?

OnlineAnthropologist !lzP5vtQrvk started this discussion 10 years ago #52,150

I noticed that most transphobia seems to stem from within black or hispanics communities while most open transgender people are mostly white. Could this be due to black and hispanic trans individuals being too afraid to come out due to family issues such as religion and other societal pressures?

I mean, there are always exceptions like in the case of actress Laverne Cox who is an African-American transwoman, but how come most of the trans people you see online are white?

Also, let's be serious here and avoid all of the anti-semitic hypotheses.

probably has to do with income.

I didn't thought of that, but then again, why would the amount of money one makes influence one's views on a social issue?

less $$$ = poorer education. and higher education tends to have a liberal skew. i don't mean that as an "loljewishagenda*" way, it's just an observation. and on top of that, without going to college their worldview is probably smaller. as in, they haven't met any trans people.

that's just a guess tho

Same reason most people in these circles, trans or not, are white. Non-whites have better things to do (such as performing the jobs white people are too lazy to take) than browse Minichan and play video games all day.

Implying that porch monkeys take the jobs whites don't want.
