what do you think? i read harry potter growing up but i grew out of it around the time i hit 14. at the same time, if we raise children on books like harry potter are we leading them to only read young adult garbage and genre fiction? stephen king said he likes the harry potter series because it leads children into reading his books. that's really fucking scary for the future of fiction if true. look at all the booktubers who barely discuss anything beyond the newest john green or hunger games or game of thrones or whatever. i don't think reading shitty books is much better than not reading at all.

I don't know that is rather pretentious
The Harry potter series does have literary value and if pop books encourage people to read who otherwise wouldn't,isn't that good?
Who decides that fantasy books are worth less than the classics?

Harry Potter is about a mentally ill child, suffering from vivid hallucinations. In which, he is a wizard, and doesn't live in a cupboard or get beaten regularly.

I love reading so much. I loved the Harry Potter stories so much. In the winter time Wed build forts and rooms with the snow, and pretend we were in hogwarts doing hogwarts things. In the summer time we gripped our bikes a specific way and pretender we were playing quidich or whatever
And I wanted to play Harry Potter til the day I died, but my friend turned 12 and decided she's too old

that sounds very fun and not pretentious. Harry Potter has prevented yet another tragic life.

It's also a gateway to Satanism, drugs, and the occult. Fortunately I didn't actually have to read Harry Potter to find those things.

> reading the daily mail makes children mentally ill

Pretty much this. We've been telling children fairy tales for thousands of years, and most of those kids have grown up much more sane than the average Daily Mail reader.

So you are 11?

This explains your behavior. That Shiela poster must be 11 too.
