I guess, but trans people are even less common than gay people, and a good portion of the trans people you meet probably won't tell you that they are trans if they aren't in the process of transitioning. I swear when people start talking about uncommon sexual or gender orientations people absolutely LOSE THEIR MIND. I just don't get it.

What did you end up doing? The question I would ask myself is "Would I feel comfortable sharing a living space with this person?" If you wouldn't feel safe, then you don't have to let them live with you. I don't see what the big deal is.

It's interesting how a lot of companies have a a "non-discrimination policy" but still actually discriminate (and of course make up phony reasons why they didn't hire you).
This might actually make it harder to find to the employers that actually really don't discriminate in hiring, because every company has to say they don't.
