Bernie has no loyalty to the Democratic Party and he thinks the system is rigged by the wall street billionaires. Bern victims aren't going to be thrilled with "the lesser of two evils" and would vote Bernie as a protest against both Hillary and Trump. It would only take a few percent to mess things up.

I think Bernie is smart enough to NOT put himself in the same position Cruz is in. In US Senate Cruz is despised. Bernie wood end up despised by his the Senate Dems.
Its zero anyway because Bernie has already said he will do anything to stop Trump.
I am not so sure Bernie is doing all he can to stop Trump so perhaps not so much so smart.
