I'm really sad right now, by that I mean I'm slightly not happy.

I was watching this old documentary about this Japanese artist who created astro boy.

I expected he to see a world and a life that reflected the world he created with his manga and cartoons. Instead I saw a man who was tired and mistreated.

In one scene he is rubbing his stomach like he was in pain while he tried to come up with ideas before the ever closer deadline came. He died of stomach cancer.

This is the most tragic fate for all creators. They're pushed to the limits of their endurance from the unreasonable constraints on their creativity's direction, and the life-pressures external to that (abuses, neglect, mistreatments, and the manipulation underlying all parties' committing of these) which drain at its psychic source.

I never looked at it that way but after seeing it, I guess you are right. It wasn't all for nothing though, he is remembered and his creations are still loved by many to this day.

It's difficult to say that it outweighs the stress he endured but you know, i think he saw it the same way because otherwise he wouldn't keep at it.

Looked it up to be sure.

Japan has the highest rate of Stomach Cancer. One in Three people die from Stomach Cancer. Korea has the 2nd highest.

Both have diets super high in Salt and preservatives. Picked veggies is a huge part of both their diets.

There are probably other reasons but me thinks its no Co~wink~e~dink that Japan and Korea both have the highest rates of stomach cancer with that kind of food in common. I really like Kimchi, but wish it was available in low salt -
