You probably know the answer more than anybody. You should try to show him that you are the exception and that is a hard task, you will be the embodiment of all the people who have wronged him but you have to show you are different.

You are asking me as if I have a clue about anything at all. My guess is that if he keeps treating you with suspicion, you are in it for the (very) long haul, and the only thing that would combat his paranoia is a predictable and secure environment where you continue to treat him as the lover you see him as.
