Sometimes if a girl sends me a text message and includes an exclamation mark (!) I don't know if she's knowingly showing me a representation of her vagina and anus. I've gotten into a lot of trouble in the past for misreading the signals.

hmmmm, interesting. I tried this on an OS X terminal but it is inconclusive.

$ say 'this'
$ say 'this?!'
$ say 'this!?'

(Don't forget the single quotes.)
Unfortunately (and it is unfortunate) there is no intonation for the exclamation mark (on the default accent at least).

if the exclamation mark comes first it's more of an exclamation.

i feel like the interrobang should be prepended with a question mark.
But I also feel like it doesn't matter at all and people should use punctuation as they see fit if the context allows it. and the context in which interrobangs are used almost always allows for it
