Topic: Why do UK Citizens pronounce "artist" as "autist"?

Since, as any schoolboy can tell you, in Englands English vocabulary, "Artist" becomes "Autist", should not also "Artist" be pronounced as "Awtest"? Shall we reform this linguistic inconsistency?
