i used to read a lot of AP and reuters stuff and listened to npr and tried to stay up on local news by reading the dallas newspaper online and international news by reading bbc whatever stuff online and even al jazerra. for years i did that.turns out i'm much happier ignoring all news except word of mouth. trust me, you won't miss anything important and will still end up being inundated with overflowing bullshit.
just go outside and read a book. it's much less stressful, and there ain't shit you can do about shit anyways, so just ignore it

The Economist, BBC, CNN, NPR, C-SPAN, PBS, RealClearPolitics, Politico. Once in a while I'll skim Fox, MSNBC, the HuffPost and Breitbart/National Review to get more partisan coverage but I find usually their articles are shit and a waste of my energy.
