When in North America it is actually west of them? This term makes sense for Europe and Africa, but why do Americans call it this when it's further east than west for them? Isn't it shorter to go west instead of east?

Also, in Asian countries, why do they refer to America as "The West" when it is really in the East for them?

Who says that the world begins with the Americas and ends with Australia?

How do Australians see the world?
