What do you write with? Given your interest in typography I'd be really sad to hear you write with generic ballpoints.

I have a thing for Uniball Vision (really any Uniball rollerball but I like the visible ink reservoir of the vision series) rollerballs but I also have a very nice Waterman fountain pen I use from time to time. I can't stand writing with pencils because the feeling of the lead scraping on the paper bugs the shit out of me and I don't like ballpoints much because you have to exert too much pressure while writing which causes cramping of the finger muscles for me. Gel pens are nice but I find them very unreliable and prone to skipping (even high end Pilot and Uniball gel pens).

I do prefer a plan ballpoint pen. This is my favorite: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/788700/Office-Depot-Brand-Tinted-Ballpoint-Stick/

I'd get a fancier pen or even just one with liquid ink but they tend to bleed. That's a problem.

It is a good lesson about believing everything you read on the net. I can find it available and not available depending on how I search for it on Home Office Depot.

And drop the assorted color options and its VERY available - Odd how even the price differs depending on what you click on -

@OP
The fancier pens are hit and miss, fountain pens are fun, but so easy to smear. Personally, any space pen will do for me, I'm really liking my Hinderer 'Extreme Duty' pen, but it's more of an overpriced toy more so than anything else. The more basic space pens are grate for everyday use. Failing that, Zebra pens are an okay substitute, especially if you have a hard time keeping track of pens, or they tend to walk off at your office.

Edit: Also I've heard good things about http://www.schondsgn.com/ and https://www.etsy.com/people/KylesCustomPens. Kyle had a lot more stock, but he had a sale recently. He makes some pretty affordable custom pens though.
