At that moment, your future self materializes beside you, hands you a brand new key, and instructs you to return it to yourself via your personal time machine. After letting yourself inside, you travel 94 seconds into the past to 5:31 PM and hand the key over to your former self, relaying the instructions you were given.

1. Where did the brand new key come from?
2. What happens when the key is worn down to uselessness by repeated use?
