With robotics slowly replacing the working class there has to be a change somewhere to ensure a massive die off of poor people isn't imminent. In Star Trek, there is technically a governing militant operation that everyone seems to enroll in to better themselves not for the intention of currency but just because. What if they were actually forced to attend the colleges regardless of rather or not they believed in socialism?
