My initial reaction was "pssh yeah right and the drive through will be flying-car accessible so George fucking Jetson can grab a burger on the way home" but maybe it could work if they reduced their menu complexity and pre-cooked and froze more items so the restaurant is just a big vending machine that plops your frozen burger and fries on a conveyor belt and nukes it? Not too different from fast food today! The machinery would be hellishly expensive and I imagine the repair guy (who makes a lot more than minimum wage) will basically have to live there 24/7 servicing all the machines.

i told y'all this would happen. as soon as they started pushing for raising minimum wage. they've done it in a few states and already franchises are looking for ways to cut employees. fully automated will totally be a thing. bet it improves sevice too, that'll be the knife-twist.

Seems simple enough to me and could have been done years ago.
They put food in vending machines. Maybe just prepackage and on conveyor belt NUKE to quick re-heat and deposit on a simple tray or drop in bag and you reach out and take it.
