Why would you vote in a Republican primary, barring brain damage or being kook?

I was considering voting for Trump in hopes of seeing the Republican party destroyed for good. But I voted Hillary instead

This interests me. There's no doubt in my mind Hillary will win the Democratic primary. Nate Silver gives Hillary a 95% chance of winning the Ohio Democratic primary.

It goes back to what I've asked Fake Anon and Syntax: if Trump is a clown and will lose hands down to Hillary, why not help nominate him? Wouldn't it be better to set Hillary up against the weakest GOP candidate instead of Kasich or Rubio?

Anonymous A (OP) replied with this 10 years ago, 13 minutes later, 1 hour after the original post[^] [v] #660,869

I'm going to laugh so hard when Trump beats Hillary because Hillary supporters are too apathetic to actually go out and vote as they are bored with the same old establishment

Well, the Dem and Rep primaries were both held today in FL, I could've voted as a Dem, and possibly voted for Colonel Sanders, and Martin O'Malley was still on the Dem ballot for whatever reason, but this is FL, so yeah.

I will probably do a switch in my state to hurt Trump

So Kasich wins and well so do I $$$
And so did you!

I've now changed my mind and decided it's good that Kasich won. Prolongs the agony. Hopefully there are riots at the convention.

Since you have been looking at 538.com and probably a few other places you also No - Of all the current Rinos Trump loses the worst to Hillary.

So the Clown Trump is the very bestest for Hill to kick ass. Going to be so much fun - HELL its been so much fun currently

Now and I will help you if you cannot find this on your own - Hill is doing MORE Better at this point in time than Obama did and the Electoral vote map which as you know is wot really counts - People that manage her are really really pleased when looking at her and Trump

Trump and this is beating a dead horse - Trump is wayyyyyy behind the loser Romney -

Yes, the ferocity of hate for Trump, even among Republicans and certainly among independents, makes him a better target. Possibly destroying the party which would be nice!

I am not in favor of total destruction. Just the right wing of that party. Moderates are ok in my book. Alas the party has been taken over by the bible thumping element. Many of which do not even go to church.

Trump leaves a massive amount of on air stuff including a new found interview with Howard Stern - Stern asked Trump if he thought it was a good ideal for us to invade Iraq. He ponders it for a few seconds and then says YES.

Careful crafting of words he has used in past will end up as nails in his coffin - He fans do not give a dam but he just does not have enough fans in his camp to vote him in.

I am going to wait until tomorrow when politico.com does the day after fact checks. They do a terrific job of that and gawker.com as well
Hillary said in her speech tonight that her total votes currently are greater than the Republicans - If I got that correctly cause I am stuck doing work for a client

I need to see if the numbers add up cause Trump rants on about bring out more people than ever before in the history of the USA

Two reasons. One, I can't vote for him since I'm registered dem and NY is a closed primary.
Two, if there is a contested convention for repubs it will be literally the most entertaining thing to happen in politics since Nixon resigned while crying like a little bitch in front of a hundred million Americans. So I am moderately interested in seeing that outcome. I think Hilary would beat Trump or Cruz, and would possibly lose to Kasich. I think if Trump gets the nod there is a decent chance establishment repubs run a third party candidate to tank Trump, and if trump doesn't get the nod, he has stated many times he will run as a third party candidate...so there is like no way Hilary will lose. Not because she is such a great candidate, but because literally an empty suit with a blue tie could win vs. the total shitshow that is the Republican nomination process.
