Yeah, my short-term memory is shot. It doesn't really make me feel dumber, just less productive.

Ofc. Your brain starts deteriorating in your mid-late 20s, especially your memory.

I do not remember any loss of memory.

Absolutely and it makes me question if I am too retarded to be in school or to learn anything.

Do you ever sometimes question rather or not you had a stroke?

Is that the only means one could lose short term memory to an extreme degree?

drugs. if you use drugs and alcohol it can impair memory greatly. there are things i have zero recall of. like how i lost my job at bennigans. i know i quit because a friend was getting fired or something and i walked out with him but honestly i don't even remember. that's what i've been told happened.
what i remember was working there and then later i worked somewhere else.

I think it's partly a panic prone thing. Like "please don't make me remember a list of things, no don't pass it off on me there's no way I'll be able to remember all that, oh shit how am I gonna remember all this?, fuck I don't even have a general idea of what I was supposed to remember"

The shitty part is that you remember being younger and having a better memory. It's like nature rubbing it in your face.

Honestly. When it comes to remembering names, I was never any good at that at any age. My dad has the same exact problem so it's got to be genes.
I do not sense that this ability has become worse over the years.
I am sure as hell I cannot run as fast as I used to when in my teens but I do not have any stats to see how slow I have gotten.
I am 100% sure I can run for longer periods of time NOW - However at 1/2 my current age I was not running daily - So in that respect I am in better shape now.
There are just so many things I am more better at NOW than I was when younger. I also keep a log of miles I run daily and times - Someday I will see my miles drop and my times degrading - Not sure How I will feel when that day comes.
