Pawn Stars' Austin "Chumlee" Russell was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Wednesday on felony weapon sex and drug charges.The 33-year-old reality star was taken into custody and his bail was set at $620,000, according to the Associated Press, adding that Clark County Detention Center records show that he is facing 26 sex charges, 39 drug possession charges and 38 counts of gun possession.
"According to the Las Vegas Sun, Russell faced a number of charges related to a raid undertaken in the service of a sexual assault warrant:"
Metro Police say they were serving a search warrant in a sexual assault investigation when they discovered methamphetamine, marijuana and firearms in his southwest Las Vegas Valley home.

turns out it was 19 drug charges and one weapon charge. he wasn't booked on an assault charge. he posted 60k bail, so they didn't even think he was any kind of threat. the whole thing stemmed from a complaint filed by a woman, but since there were no charges i guess that's all kind of questionable. still though, 19 drug charges. seems weird. i know in texas if i have 10 bags of pot then they count them as 10 different charges rather than just one possession charge and they can call it trafficking. so i guess he had a bunch of different kinds of pot and meth and each package was counted as a single charge or something. the way they do that is really kind of crooked, you can easily be just a user and go down in a big, big way just because of how you stash your drugs. it's best to not keep lots of strains around, and if you do its best to put them all in the same container and not use individual baggies.
and i wonder about the gun charge, it's a really bad idea to keep guns in the same place as drugs because if they bust you they can (again) claim trafficking and say the gun is used during the commission of crimes and all of that. if you're a dealer and you get busted with a gun then it's much, much worse. maybe that's what takes simple possession to felony possession (which is what he got, felony possession of drugs and guns.) it's a big deal, but if he goes and puts himself in rehab then he might end up with a soft celeb type punishment rather than years in jail.
it all sounded much worse when it was first reported.

Last night the police refused to say if the Sexual assault was connected to Chumless. (Apparently it is)
