I am looking to purchase a new headset, but do not want to spend a fortune.

Why a headset and not just headphones?

Because I still want mic functionality for games.

Use eBay and sort it by price. Cheap to expensive. It helped me get Skyrim Legendary edition for 4 dollars.

How much do you want to pay? You could get a Modmic http://www.modmic.com/ and then regular headphones which will sound a lot better and will not make you look like a 10 year old!

Save 2 dollars a day to look bad ass because nobody online would see them and you'd waste all
your money but who cares it's a ultra headset.

That's pretty neat though does feel a little unnecessary. Can you reuse it for another pair of headphones or is it an once it's on it's on ordeal?
> will not make you look like a 10 year old
But you'd still be wearing a headset either way so where is the relevance here?

Now I know there has to be a far cheaper model that more or less gives you satisfying auto and mic quality.
Who the hell pays this much for a damn headset that nobody will ever see unless you're a fucking YouTuber?

Externally hosted imagei've been using the Razer Kraken headset and it's the best i've ever owned.
Razer Kraken on Newegg (refurbished $40)

the other headset i've recently owned was a steel series siberia v2, which were great for about a year and then they broke. one of the speakers just died. i did some disassembly on it but was disappointed to find out that the tear down was very damaging and the electronics were slathered with antistatic goop making it impossible to even put probes on the board. i couldn't tell if it was a loose wire, a damaged speaker, or fried circuitry. so far i haven't needed to get inside the Kraken headset, it's just been great. had it for a while now, close to 2 years almost and they work as well as the first day i got them.

i don't know what their build quality is today, but if it's the same as it was 2 years ago then it's a very sturdy product that will last perform exceptionally and longer than other similarly priced headsets. if you're looking for a quality headset that will last you for a long time, consider the kraken.

those are like, studio cans. those are probably marketed to people in the music industry and junk. i doubt anyone but the most autistic twitch streaming "progamers" use those for gaming
