On a lot of those Trump just licensed his name. Gloating about how Trump Towers Timbuktu went bankrupt after the global financial crisis is missing the point. The point is: people in Timbuktu will pay Donald Trump for his name.
Yes Trump's Atlantic City casinos went bankrupt. So did everyone else's. A lot of casinos go bankrupt. Even if the odds are in your favor, you still have to pay taxes and wages and utilities. If not so many people show up? Profits er not so much so good.
