don't worry, i'm not voting for him. i just want to know if i need to prepare for a reversal of the current trend towards decriminalization

so what you're saying is you have no idea what his platform is or what he'll do once he's in office? damnit, why can't i get a single straight answer about his policy except for building walls and killing families. is it... is it because he literally doesn't have a platform or any... like, goals as president? why is it so hard to find out what his agenda is. drug law, it's simple, but even that he's got to hem and haw, he thinks pot might be dangerous and it might be beneficial, but i have yet to come across anything concrete. every answer he gives seems to be some form of "yes and no" but without any clarification. i just want to know, simply, what kind of policy platform he is running on.
why is that proving to be such a hard thing to find out?

also, when he chooses one of his sons to be his running mate so he can "teach him the new family business" none of you bastards gets to act surprised. then after the 8 year PR campaign is through and most people worship him offspring like Kim Jong Un then you still don't get to act surprised. Then when he dissolves congress and appoints his son to the presidency you still don't get to act surprised. you don't even get to act surprised when he trashes the first amendment so he can more easily file slander lawsuits and silence people that disagree with him.

I'm the only one on the fora who has read his mangnum opus The Art of the Deal. Donald Trump's only ideology is YUGE deals and YUUUUGE money. Now you might say this is horrible what good is a politician without ideology and principles but look at what principles get you in Washington? Nothing. Just ask Ron Paul. Or Rand Paul. Rand even sold out and became a libertarian lite neocon.
If you cryogenically froze someone in 2008 and thawed them out today would they be be able to tell the President changed from a Texas conservative to an Illinois liberal? (yes I know they were born in Connecticut and Hawaii, respectively) Oh, right, we got Mitt Romney's healthcare plan. We're still at war in the Middle East and weed is still illegal. Those states which have legalized it did so in spite of the federal government and many legal weed operators are subject to DEA raids, asset forfeiture, and prosecution under the Obama administration. Gay marriage? Supreme Court 100%. Would've happened even if Romney won in 2012 or Bush got a fourth term.

you're just making excuses for him though. what kind of policy is the man talking about implementing, what kinds of things does he believe? these things are actually important. these are typically the things people discuss during an election so that voters can, you know, decide who's best fit to run the country. it's not good enough to say "i'm running for president" and then go no further than attacking people. ''i know what he thinks of little marco rubio and hillary, but i have no idea what kinds of policies he would advance during his administration.

Hummmmmm remember Trum who I No like is Not a dummie
A Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll released Tuesday, just hours before Christie's State of the State address, said just 31 percent of New Jersey voters approved of the governor's performance in office, with 59 percent disapproving.
That's his second-lowest approval rating in the poll — he was at 30 percent in June 2015 — and his highest-ever negative ranking, surpassing the 56 percent he recorded in November. After Election Day in 2012, he had a 77 percent approval and 17 percent disapproval ratings.

I think he is brilliant re Not putting out an agenda. Since he can get away with it with the quality of those that support him. There is also no law that says he has to show his income tax's.
Even how he gets away with saying he is worth 10 Billion when all the smart biz people put it at about 3. And I can even see how he inflates the 3 into 10 because public traded companies are often worth multiple times what they have on books - Just perception and Trump can translate with his Ego and turn 3 to 10 and frankly that is ok.
As a gambler I look at him as a gambler and he is doing really really good currently - With a poor hand week after week he continues to win win win - Only the big pot to be won requires 70+% in his hand and he only has about 37%.
BUT Gamblers had won the big pot by bluffing and dirty tricks. He could pull it off cause he can turn self into a true dirty politician.

On a deeper level Trump makes sense. Look at your own life: do you have a deeply held, chiseled-in-stone Squeegee policy you rigidly adhere to? Or do you just try to roll with the punches and come out on top?
Trump arouses such strong reactions because you have cognitive dissonance. You think elections are a sacred civic ceremony to be won by Very Serious People® but you also believe democracy is broken and it doesn't matter who wins. Trying to square this circle just makes it worse.
My point re: Obama is not to diss Obama (believe me I could come up with even more for Bush and Republicans) but just to point out that soaring oratory and beautifully crafted policy platforms don't mean shit in the real world.
> and why do his supporters just keep making excuses for him. i'm asking valid, pertinent questions here. what is his platform?

Imagine two politicians, A and B:
A: I have been a leading congressman for 30 years and I will fix income inequality and mass incarceration and make everything great.
B: Lol fuck all y'all I just want the money and the power.
Obviously A is the right answer, right? Except A will never accomplish anything and the net result will be the same whether we elect A, or B, or X, or Y, or Z. Ron Paul has more principles than anybody — he stuck by the Constitution for 30+ years steadfast, even after 9/11 and I don't think he could change anything.
