You should. Researching or trying to cross shop mattresses is purposefully hellish.
I bought one not 3 weeks ago, the only website worth the time I spent on it was http://www.sleeplikethedead.com/
Buying one of the online only brands with a single or small number of models (Casper, bed in a box) is probably your best bet.

I hadn't heard of this website! I know comparison shopping is futile so I've decided on Texas Mattress Makers they are highly regarded here in Houston and I'll get to buy direct from the factory. I looked at the Casper bed and it's a neat concept but $750 is outside my budget ($400 max).

It makes lots of creaking clunking sounds when I crawl into it and I've been having an achy back the last few years. I'm not surprised your mattresses last 20 years though. You weigh like 65 pounds.

I'm going to be honest with you for a second, while consumer affairs may not be a fan of your Kirby vacuums, I'll admit there's never been a time where I vacuumed a mattress with a Shop-Vac either. So I'll concede that there is a remote possibility that this Kirby vacuum has some sort of niche advantage when it comes to vacuuming mattresses.

Update:
Texas Mattress Makers was, er, not so much so good.
I get in the store and I'm greeted by a salesman. I tell him I'm looking for a full size mattress, willing to spend up to $500. So he shows me a couple of cheap mattresses then a $2000 dollar one! Wtf? I felt it was highly disrespectful. Yes I know the $2000 one is really nice but I'm not going to spend that much. And then he tells me because of my size a $500 one will only last five years! Idk, maybe it's true but it's an appalling thing to say to a customer: call me fat and then tell me the mattresses dont last very long.
So I went to Ikea and it turns out they just got in a whole new line of mattresses and a lot of them feel great! The saleslady is very polite and helpful and after much deliberation I decided on a medium-firm Ikea Hesstun http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60307436/ apparently they have a 20 year warranty, too!

And okay sure weight is a factor I can't argue with that but I know this guy is full of shit because my old mattress was a cheap crappy one and it lasted 8 years before it started bothering me. But still saying "I am willing to make a $500 purchase" and then the guy saying "check out this $2000 mattress" is crossing the line. My credit score is 790 and I qualify for financing out the yazoo. I could have bought four of them, cash money, but I was not willing to spend that much on some springs wrapped in fabric and he needs to respect that

I should probably just buy a new Chevy Silverado 2500 and sleep in the back of that — the rear suspension is rated for a 1.5 ton payload and then when I wake up I can just hop in the cab and drive it to work!
I could put some straw and feed in the back of it.

First night: I slept really well and my back feels better! It still feels a bit weird just like a new pair of shoes but I am happy! It feels so luxurious.
The best part is the pocket springs. On my old bed if I bounced or changed positions it would bounce up and down for like 5 seconds. Now, the motion is fully damped.
