I somewhat echo this KL's sentiment, but outright suggesting suicide was utterly uncouth and brash. This KL is probably American.

Val Dean Rust, Professor of education $188,400
DAILY BRUIN
Posted: November 20, 2013 12:00 am Posted: November 20, 2013 12:00 am Posted: November 20, 2013 12:00 am Posted: November 20, 2013 12:00 am
Current and former students in the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies expressed their support for professor emeritus Val Rust following a demonstration in one of his graduate classes last Thursday.
Student demonstrators alleged that there is a “toxic” racial climate in the graduate school, including in Rust’s classroom. Organizers told the Daily Bruin last week that they decided to host the demonstration after a recent report examining racial discrimination among the university’s faculty stated that UCLA’s policies and procedures do not sufficiently address racially motivated instances of discrimination.
After Thursday’s sit-in, several current and former students said they did not believe there was a problem with racial discrimination in Rust’s class.

I think we should go back to before the 1600s when spelling and grammar were standardized. I mean it: abolish all standarization of spelling and grammar. If it worked then, why not now?

Isn't the name AAVE itself a bit problematic? African American Vernacular English. Ie it's "vernacular" not "real" English.

university is turning in to a place you go to have your feelings validated, not a place to receive a higher education. damn shame.
college is just really expensive "self-esteem camp" these days. i remember tons of first semester fuck-ups that washed out because they obviously had an easy ride in high school. They were the people who'd skip 2 weeks of class and then beg the prof for extra credit and special considerations and crap. nope. that kind of thing didn't happen back then. but it seems like nowadays everyone expects to not only get into college with 3rd grade reading comprehension but they also expect to be able to continue sliding by and not have to actually learn anything. to not have spelling mistakes and grammar excused for being black is a racist microaggression - my ass hole. the real aggression (and it's not micro) are coming from these SJWs who bully individuals because they have problems with institutional policies they disagree with.
"hey, let's run this guy's name through the mud and call him a racist and try and get him fired cause spelling is caucasian."
fucking ignorant cunts.

In the strictest usage of the word, "vernacular" refers to any language which is not Latin. Thanks.

Well, vato, I was thinking just calling it "language". "English" is problematic because it erases the many contributions to the language from non-English peoples.

Scotland (Gaelic: Alba, Inglis: Scotland) is a kintra in nor-wast Europe, an is ane o the fower kintras[1] that maks the Unitit Kinrick. It taks up the northren thrid o the Breetish island. Scotland haes til its sooth the laund o Ingland, an is bund bi the German Ocean til the eist an the Atlantic Ocean til the north an wast.
It aforetyms wis a free kinrik, but than Scotland gaed intil a personal union wi Ingland in 1603, whan Jeams VI o Scotland becam Jeams I o Ingland eftir the daith o Elspeth I. This union wis makkit formal on 1 Mey 1707 bi the Treatie o Union. The Scots Pairlament wis gotten rid o on 26 Mairch. The union southert baith kinriks, makkin the Kinrick o Great Breetain, wi a new singil Pairlament haudden in Wastmeinster, Lunnon, but sum pairts o Scotland's institutions, merkit the laund's naitional kirk an skuilin an legal seistems, wis hauden apairt. In 1801, Scotland becam ane o the thrie launds o the Unitit Kinrick, alang wi Ingland an Ireland (nou juist Northren Ireland). Wales is nou seen for uisal as anither laund, awtho it wis juist a principalitie o the kinrik o Ingland in 1707.
It takes more effort to read than Standard English but I think anyone with a good grasp of English could make out what's being said. There may be one or two words you don't get at first (like "kinrick" and "haudden") but you can figure it out from context or look it up. Certainly if there was some book or article I wanted to read, being in Scots wouldn't deter me.

would anyone imagine that THIS change would have happened without the acceptance of the gays into mainstream society?
sometimes there is a choice or decision that we do think we believe we understand the ramifications (no gay pun intended) of but yet there are important issues we ignorantly leave out of the equation..
