Topic: Spoilers: In what way was the Starkiller Base not Death Star III again?

Anonymous A started this discussion 10 years ago #50,379

From what I gathered on /r/starwars, the weapon is movable, and has the potential to destroy a planet yet alone an entire solar system. In the movie they said this wasn't like the Death Star and proceeded to show a hologram of the schematics compared to the size of Starkiller Base.

How does showing the size and the fact that one is built into a planet make the newer weapon not a third upgraded Death Star?

Does this mean Dr. Evil's Moon Laser doesn't actually make the Moon his own personal "Death Star"? Is his son, Scotty, right?

@OP
The timeline changed after the whale probe blew Vulcan up. Did you even watch the movie?

As someone with a bit of experience in space construction, I can tell you that both have similar functions, but the specs are worlds apart, if you will pardon the pun.
