Depending on what you're peddlig, there may be better ways.
Look at the way Cory Doctorow and Scott Sigler did it. Not always a recipe for success, James Curcio tried the same thing, and while I enjoy his work, it really did fuckall to help get him noticed.
If you don't at least have a decent preview available and you're some unknown writing horror or twin twink tarantula terrotica you probably won't get very far.
