Drinking and driving doesn't mean drinking while driving. It means drinking first, then driving. It is legal to do, just as long as you don't drink too much.

Yeah if you are tipsy I am pretty sure you are at the .08 limit. That's not a lot, and some states have even lower limits. Not to mention states can still penalize you if you are driving and below the .08 limit imposed by the state. Thanks. Where is your JD from again?

BUZZED DRIVING IS DRUNK DRIVING

Having a blood alcohol level higher than the law allows is drunk driving. If it is lower than the limit, you are allowed to continue drinking and to continue driving. What you are implying is that you can be arrested for speeding, when traveling under the speed limit.

BAC doesn't mean anything. There are those who are drunk as fuck before they can even hit .05, but that doesn't mean they're not drunk driving just because it's under the legal limit of .08 -- I'm guessing you also don't know about Maggie's Law.

@previous (FuckAlms !vX8K53rFBI)
There are also rules about bicycles on highways. This discussion is about how much you can drink before you drive, it's not about nitpicking examples used.

There is no minimum speed limit on a residential street, so if you must, maybe think about that speed limit as being the drink driving limit? Or you could just realise that not being over the limit is allowed. Over the limit is not allowed. That's how laws that have limits on things work

Completely untrue. The limit at all times is the limit. That's how limits work. it is generally between .05 and .08 depending on where you are in the world. If you are breathalyzed and are under the limit, you continue driving. If the limit is .05 then you can blow .00 .01 .02 .03 or .04 and nothing happens. You can't get charged with nearly drink driving.

I don't know it's just what it's called here. Probably shortened from "don't drink'n'drive bro" to just "don't drink drive bro" or something like that. It's not what it is formally know as, just something people say. We don't call it a DUI or DWI either. We also don't use that faggoty stand on one foot and touch your nose while counting backwards test. There is a calibrated machine that tests you on the roadside in every police car.

Maybe it's because of the road block testing that it's so fucking simple and straight forward to me. The cop has a thing the size of a TV remote, you drive up, he holds it near your face and you count to 5. Its set to the drinking limit, if it lights up green you drive off, how simple is that to understand? If it lights up red you pull off the road, go and get processed in the booze bus and arrested.

Idk what happens in USAmerica, I can only go off what I've seen on Cops, and that is like watching some sort of cartoon with people so drunk they can't even stand being made to play hopscotch and sing a nursery rhyme as required by law.
