Girly drinks always look way more refreshing and delicious. From what little I had of beer it just tastes literally like nothing and doesn't tempt me to drink more of it to get acquired to it.

Try a German or One of the current microbrews. Guinness Stout. If you are used to pisswater Bud? You may reject the true German beers because they at first come across bitter.

Got that all wrong. Yes a few beers use wheat as the key grain. Very Few.
Barley which has been malted - You need to look that up. Hops and Yeast. Wide range of types of Barley. That single grain Barley can end up with a huge range of colors and flavors and web is loaded with details and pictures. Look up a beer home brew place near by and visit and they will let you taste a variety of the ready to use grains for free. Quality eats - very tasty.
Hops are bitter and tasting them by themselves is not very instructive - Bitter - Also a wide range of flavors but I have not experienced that range except once and my pallet was not up to doing that anyway. Yeast for beer making is also a complex thing that adds a lot beyond the turning grains into alcohol.
I think Bud uses rice and other cheep piss water beers use rice wheat and corn. German laws allow only Barley Hops and Yeast. Might be one exception for wheat?
