At a recent Assistant Psychologist meeting, I too expressed my impression the psychopathy was only innate and couldn't be "acquired". If I recall correctly, the others said that it was unclear, and that there may be an environmental component in play. This was in the context of a discussion on something called attachment styles, where it was said that people with avoidant attachment styles (acts cold and aloof and doesn't care much for others) were the most likely to "become" psychopaths.
Though, in reference to your question, I would imagine that an enviornmental factor wouldn't be straightforward either. So, you couldn't just decide to put yourself through some simple process to twist your mind into that of a psychopath's.
