It appears that Microsoft has officially acquired the old MinecraftEDU client mod for the game and is now releasing a brand new version titled, Minecraft: Education Edition.http://education.minecraft.net/announce011916/
They also requested some builders to re-create the seven wonders of the ancient world.

About time! Did you know that only 56% of American children know proper block placement? And just 34% can build a basic redstone circuit? It's outrageous!

All that crap is a waste of time. Probably just crowbarred in there to entice the parents in. The real lesson to be learned is Minecraft skills. You can make a living off of Minecraft if you're good enough.
I swear, if my child couldn't build a functioning computer within Minecraft by the time they were 18, I would throw them the fuck out.
