I found a audio recording of Evan Chandler(who is the father of the boy who accused Michael Jackson of molesting him), and the boys stepfather talking about winning big during the trial.

Jackson as a business man, showed a lot of smart qualities. That infamous conversation he had with Paul McCartney for instance on the catalog that Paul wanted to own. Yet Jackson was out of money towards the end. Now of course the money flows in like crazy. Evis is worth far more dead then when he was alive my multiples.
Dropping a massive $20 Million to keep things quiet? I just do not buy that. Creepy in my book. I vote Guilty!

Yet the history of stuff that comes out when hush money is spent...No amount of money can stop a leak when so many people are involved. Huge staff of legal people on both sides as well as Admin in office, accounting, paralegals ...It is bound to slip out and did.

A quick look and the number turns out to be $25 Million. So the real question based on questions here of afford as it was no big deal- would require someone else looking at Jacksons net worth at the tyme of the settlement.

I like doing research and hate it when I have to do a hack job. So this is only in process quick stabs at what Jackson did not have.

NOW if in fact he was only pulling down $50 Million a year and paid out a $25 Million pay off - Hummmmmmmm 50% of income
Anyway as I say up front this is super quick and really needs more evidence on income only being $50 Million per year vs the $25 Million hush money.
Nor is $25 Million trivial vs $500 Million income over that period of time
Also $50 Million in any Forges publication re Forbes protocol, means that is pretax income, so the $50 is a much smaller number.

If he was willing to waste that much money on stupid crap, why wouldn't he be willing to pay an equal amount to keep from being prosecuted? Also, Michael used to spend tons of money feeding fake stories to the tabloids.

Ah well on the feeding of fake stories, I R have a little expertise on this one. Spent a few very few years at MCA/Universal studios - not for film nor for music Yet got stuck in a big way in music for a bit - long enough to make a major change for them in that business nor did I have any background in that business - story short version can be seen at TC as topic re who I B?
What I learned/found was for instance - I was with a super star off in London, then see news stand stories about her doing something elsewhere that would get a lot of publicity. So having no clue I asked her about all that with phone call . 'She says, o thats the publicity agent hired by MCA Music to keep my name up in lights nor do I have any control over content'
So its the old - Say whatever about me but please keep saying something. Now as to paying to keep from being prosecuted? Maybe in Chicago or some other corrupt place but California? When a DA comes after you its often a matter of keeping their name up in lights IF they want to run for some office.
I SHOULD not really say that because I have several close friends who are DA assistants City State and Feds including the former DA for Calif who now be Gov. When Brown makes up his mind no amount of money or threats or anything will get him off track.
