Since, as any schoolboy can tell you, in USAmerican English, "lure" becomes "loo-wer", should not also "cure" be pronounced as "coo-wer", "pure" as "poo-wer" and "sure" as "soo-wer"? Shall we reform this linguistic inconsistency?
