Microsoft is getting close to making a tolerant browser with Edge and even IE11.
Firefox feels sluggish more now than it ever has been in the past. It now tries to imitate Chrome's layout.
Opera is essentially just Chrome now with WebKit and an imitation layout.
Chrome just seems to run faster and smoother than all of the competition.
Why does it feel like we have to result to using a botnet for stability?

Vivaldi is pretty much the best browser to exist at this point, vastly outclassing Chrome in terms of performance and usability, even while still in beta. Opera guys did a damn good job with it :) (should be noted that most of Opera's team quit the company and now works on this thing, and also that while it's based on Blink, it's about the furthest thing from a ho-hum Chrome derivative one can find)

I use both FF and Chrome.
Hate the extra step on a pc to use bookmarks with Chrome.

I don't know about apps, but Vivaldi definitely supports Chrome extensions. I'd personally recommend uBlock Origin and Web of Trust.

I have no idea. If it's using an extension, it should probably work roughly the same way it does in Chrome. Otherwise, idk.

It's a bit of a matter of perspective. Chrome with uBlock immediately triggers my shitty laptop's fans whenever I start up the browser. I can run Firefox (with adblock and a number of other add-ons) all day without draining much in the way of processor time. I don't know what uBlock (or Chrome itself) is doing in the time I'm not actually using it. I haven't run a packet sniffer or reverse engineered it to figure that out, but Chrome is resource hungry where Firefox is fairly resource generous. Firefox can get uppity, but it's usually pretty simple to sort out.
