Just had an idea on how to make money to support the site. As well as buying gold stars with donations, users can pay to have someone they don't like tagged as a faggot. The victim will lose their gold star and the sentence "This user is a complete faggot" will appear in red at the bottom of every post they make. In addition, a personal word filter will scramble all of their messages into gibberish, making it impossible for them to post anything worth reading. Victim will then have to make another donation to have the tag removed and their gold star reinstated.

I realize this message will be regarded as trolling, but it might be worth further consideration. Chans are literally powered by hate and resentment, the resulting drama could potentially generate enough revenue to pay the board's bandwidth costs for months to come.

It could be taken a step further by allowing personalized tags for a slightly higher donation. For example:
