probably not going to watch any more. for all the excellent reviews about story and writing it felt forced and the dialog was full of heavy handed exposition. dare devil is far and away a better show. the pacing was great and the story developed over the course of the whole season. the flash sets everything up in about 15 minutes and i get the feeling the shows are going to be disposable, interchangeable, "villain of the week" type stories. i also don't like the "poor man's Fitz Simmons" and thought the throw-away scene with the Arrow was weak. all in all i'm kind of disappointed. i've just heard so many good things and the marvel shows have been doing a good job of avoiding that prime-time formulaic CSI style of over explaining everything and simplifying story arcs to one-off episodes. not understanding why people say the DC universe is better written than the Marvel universe.
i'm just not taken with it. and kind of surprised so many people say it's better than the marvel shows. by the end of dare devil season one i was really into the story and was stoked that he finally got his bad ass super hero suit. he went through some real character development through that whole arc and THEN at the end he was able to affect that change on the outside with kevlar and graphene. but in the flash, "-Oh, here you go, here's a super suit i've been working on. we'll call you the flash and give you a lightning symbol." :/
the fact so much resolved in one hour was off-putting, tbh. any real fans of the show? am i judging it too harshly? how long before it starts getting really good?

It never gets good. They try to inject some drama/stakes into it via angst re: dead mom, imprisoned father, romantically unattainable adopted sister, but it never quite reaches a level that makes it entertaining or makes the audience empathetic.

Watch more faggot. The first few episodes are incredibly weak. It's definitely better than daredevil. I don't remember how many episodes it took for me to get into it, but I definitely wasn't a big fan at first. Same with arrow. But then I was bored so I watched a bit more and now I can't wait for new episodes to air.
