have you ever been sanctioned as an attorney? is that like a common slap on the wrists (the write up of the legal system) or is it more serious than that? a buddy of mine had a huge custody dispute with his lawyer wife and she was sanctioned by the judge for shenanigans and then lost on every front and in fact is owed less child support now and also he's got a more fair time split with their kids. anyway, just wondering if the sanctions means my buddy is fully vindicated. from what it sounds like the judge basically dismissed her suit against him and then also gave the father an even better arrangement because the first one was stacked very unfairly against him. (she's a family law attorney and used every dirty trick in the book, including calling the police on him several times to establish a history of domestic disputes even though he never touched her. she was just "afraid of what he was going to do.") she was able to keep the kids completely away from him for almost 2 years.

anyway, i acted as a witness more than once because she was lying about MY interactions with the police which she conflated with HIS, which were distinctly different. mine was the one that involved assault, not his. lol.

anyway, she was sanctioned after, like, an hour in chambers (i guess they call it) and when they came out the judge sanctioned her, then ruled in favor of the husband (or however that works) and they rewrote custody on-the spot. i got the impression that it ended very unfavorable for her and that being sanctioned is kinda bad. what would you think of something like that?

I'm not sure if sanctions is the right term here. It doesn't sound like any kind of ding on her professionally, just a judge rearranging custody when it became clear that one parent was lying and interfering with the children's relationship with the other parent (which is an important factor in allocating parenting time).

There are sanctions that a judge can issue against one side when there's misconduct in litigation, such as making one side pay for the other's attorney fees, but they don't actually declare a winner on that basis. And then there are professional conduct procedures that are handled by the state's bar or highest court. I don't think either of those happened here.

Are you going to date her? I think you should.

@previous (beckyderp !4aMoRa.T2Q)
she disobeyed the judges orders by going behind her back and having another judge file an injunction against the decision AND filed a restraining order against her ex-husband despite the judges previous ruling earlier in the day. it was done on a friday before a long holiday weekend and it didn't get resolved for 2 weeks and the judge was visibly pissed that the lawyer-wife was in contempt. and i don't think a "winner" was declared, the judge just came out and said basically, "we're changing custody to 50-50, giving dad the next 2 years of holidays, and lowering his support to be in-line with his actual income." his lawyer said they could probably get fees, but he was so happy he just wanted to walk away and be with his kids and leave it all in the past.

date her, hell no. these are old high school friends. i knew her back when i was a junior/senior and was in a few classes with her. back then i would have called her mousy. now she's just angry and manipulative. not sure what happend tbh

but yeah, i guess i don't know what exactly happened to her. judge was pissed though, even told her to stop talking at one point.
