That predates all of those mentions, it's the first thing I noticed and one of the earliest events I freaked out about with my acquaintence whilst there, who'd given me false reassurances not to think about it.

Grey-brown tweed jackets that were obviously previously used. They had their former insigna removed which you could tell by the stitching in places; I presume these were the wear of University commonroomsmen, you know, of the letters.
