We need this and a governmental body that, contrary to the current Common Purpose promoted paradigm of the "simple English" agenda (where all published texts by the government are written at the level of a mid-primary schooler or lower; I've to say though that Scotland hasn't followed suit as much, standard legal letters sent to me easily still contained moderately advanced vocabulary using somewhat complicated structures I'd describe as belonging to upper-secondary texts), promotes the preservation of linguistic traditions that are conducive to grammatical consistency, whilst policing and subsequently discarding those which have done nothing but muddy the waters.
Perhaps, we can also use this opportunity to prune a good number of the smaller, negroidal words, and litigate their usage in formal contexts when their undue revival is in breach of the convention, so as to set an example.
Tyrone can no longer litter government information pamphlets with Afro-Jamaican slang patois in deliberately broken syntax and regard it smugly as a form of acculturation.

Your qualifications are irrelevant in the realm of colloquial experience; the two are not cross-applicable, no matter however hard you try to justify it.
Sure, the nature of your particular ones might place to qualify you in their extensive analysis in a solely systematic way but it has no pertinence to such intangible things as dialectual accent qualities.
Also, where have you travelled to, within Scotland? Where did you stay exactly? There are wide variances down to the street level in the kind of contexts yielding the sorts of dialectic divergence emanating therewith.

Sorry, but I am not going to research my travel itinerary from 10 years ago. I can say that I traveled not only to major cities, but also to small villages. I traveled with a Scottish gentleman who showed me the real country. It is a beautiful, wonderful country: don't get me wrong. But the English is non-standard.
