I am single mother who lives with 14 old son.
I came home earlier than he expected and I saw him in our living room naked with dirty sock on his penis. He watched porn DVD on TV and masturbated.
I would ignore it, because I know that is perfectly normal and healthy, but he masturbated in our living room and with very dirty sock.
I explained to him that he can't masturbate in our common space like living room or kitchen, but he can in privacy of his room or bathroom whenever he wants. Also I told him that he must care about hygiene of his private parts and that he can't masturbate with dirty sock. Now he knows that he can throw "used sock" in the laundry basket.

I'll take this question seriously, but I may be wrong to do so.
He is a normal 14 year old. What difference does it make to you whether his socks are clean or dirty and how did you get close enough to determine what state they were in?
Any normal mother would've made an excuse to quickly leave the room for a minute or two to spare her son any further embarrassment.
The last person in the world your son would want to be involved in his sex life is you. Leave him alone, you have embarrassed him enough already. Pictures in a magazine are not a boy's first choice in porn these days and he is perfectly capable of masturbating without any porn at all.
