I thought "turkey" was a way of shaming anonymous posters about not establishing an identity, and some random poster used that term to refer to some angry anons posting. You may be correct though. My memory of the period when that started is pretty spotty. There was a lot of bash scripting and heavy drinking going on, so following all the threads was a bit of a problem.
