Stop rubbing it in!
I sold my bitcoins when they were worth ~1.5 cents each.
And now it takes about 1 year to generate 50BC on average hardware.

It's a bubble, the price is going to plummet eventually. They got a bit of attention recently because of a Google employee, a new video (and site), and front page Reddit material.
People will start to sell of their coins.

Nope, you'd be lucky to generate any at all. Fewer are being generated as it reaches the max that will ever be created, and those few coins are being given to the people with very fast machines and servers who can process it faster than anyone else.

Of course it's a bubble, but now bitcoins are in the public eye.
They are becoming a legitimate form of currency that people are using.
I don't think the BC market will crash as hard as you are thinking. I think it will slowly level out and stabilize as people start making trades for products and services. At the moment, it's still being used experimentally and not so much like real money.

It definitely has become more legitimate, and will be used more, but I expect that some people out there will start to sell off large amounts of Bitcoins and the price will drop temporarily.

This is why it sucks that I sold off over 2700 bitcoins for chump change.
I am trying my luck atm, to grab some bitcoins while it's still even remotely possible.
I need to invest in a cluster of PS3s or something, lol.

You can offer a transaction fee to have your transaction processed before everyone else, a small 0.01 amount is usually used. Perhaps many of these will start to be the new way to generate coins.
Who knows? right now the market is so unstable it's easy to profit. Just be careful considering it jumped up so high.

There are a lot of vendors accepting it. In the future when everyone has a smartphone it will probably become the street currency, or accepted by local vendors.

Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer currency. Peer-to-peer means that no central authority issues new money or tracks transactions. These tasks are managed collectively by the network.
